Core funding helps participants with everyday activities. Your plan may cover assistance in your home, food preparation and delivery, building social connections and supporting your disability-related daily living needs.

What services are covered under NDIS Core Funding?


Assistance with Daily Life


NDIS Core funding can cover support with:

  • Personal care (showering, dressing, grooming)
  • Meal preparation
  • Household cleaning and laundry
  • Medication assistance (within provider scope)
  • Daily living skill development
  • In-home support

These supports help participants maintain independence and dignity in their home environment.


Social and Community Participation


Core Supports may include assistance to:

  • Attend community activities
  • Access social groups
  • Participate in recreation
  • Build independence in community settings
  • Attend appointments

Community participation supports help reduce social isolation and promote inclusion.


NDIS Consumables


Core funding may cover disability-related everyday items such as:

  • Continence products
  • Nutritional supplements (if approved)
  • Low-cost assistive technology
  • Personal care items related to disability

Consumables must meet the NDIS “reasonable and necessary” criteria.


NDIS Transport Funding


Transport funding may be available for participants who cannot use public transport due to disability. This can support:

  • Travel to work or education
  • Community participation
  • Disability-related appointments

Transport funding varies depending on the participant’s plan.
